halfway to becoming  

a set of rib cage wind chimes 

I lurch down the street 

the winding fish spine staircases 

twist in steel mockery of me.  

I clamber, limp, and spit on the curb 

cursing the great green Earth 

as it unrolls beneath my dragging feet.
